I wrote this song in 1986, so very long ago that embarrassingly, I really can’t remember the whom it was written about. I have always been the romantic at heart, sharing my all when in love, Wearing rose coloured glasses and fantasizing of the perfect match, the soul mate, the you complete me person to share my life with. Over many a year, in my youth, you could definitely say I had my fair share of toads, not frogs of a princely manner. I feel this song has a heartbroken quality to it, a sense of an unwanted leaving, a feeling, I am sure that most everyone experiences and can relate to from some moment in their lives. Today being happily married this song carries no heartache or melancholy that it must have at the time of composing. It does however have a distinct medieval feel, which has me imagining a time of castles, knights, fair maidens, King Arthurs realm, I truly love that aspect. I hope you all enjoy “Memories of you”
