Bandcamp vs those other platforms

Well, release on the morrow 3-1-2022. New moon.
Everything involved in this process I have given much thought to. It has been a long process with many 3 steps forward and 2 back moments. But step by step I have persevered and met each challenge as best I could.
Website design and building omg I have barely gotten my head around copy and paste lol.
Decisions have been a major part of each step, what songs, what order, what pix to pick, list goes on and on.
In this age of technology you can find help at the tap of a button and I have used this many a time advice, timing, do it this way, do it that way argggggh
One of these has been Streaming platforms, do I do some, do I do them all, and so the investigation begins.
The easiest way for me to explain comparisons is as follows.
Spotify, iitunes, etc are about there own company there own profits, not about the Artist. Don't get me wrong I have Spotify on my phone, I use it and love how easy it is to play any song, artist, album, but it does not look after the little guy, the independent muso, the artist.
I looked it up Spotify pays $ . 00437 per stream so this roughly translates to $ 21.85 for 5,000 streams/plays.
This horrified me and puts them and company's like them into a Big fat corporation box for me.
Bandcamp is a platform for Artists, Yes of course they charge something but it is a mountain away in comparison. Bandcamp has so many new amazing Artists worldwide just waiting to be heard.
So Bandcamp is like a Farmers market and the others are ummmmm are like Coles, to me this was a no brainer, do I risk my music not being heard as often, I guess so, will the ones that do go to Bandcamp be a genuine fan, I believe so. Join the Bandcamp family and support Artists directly that's what I think.
